ARTICLE II     

Purpose of the Organization

The purposes of the Organization are set forth in the Certificate of Incorporation. In brief summary, they consist of receiving and collecting funds for charitable and educational purposes, as well as inculcating in its members the traditions, history and customs of the ancestral home, Kardamyla and assure the continuance of the educational process of the history of Kardamyla.

The Organization’s sources of support shall be derived from its regular members annual dues, donations, net earnings from various affairs which the Board of Directors may, from time to time organize, income from investments and gross receipts from exempt function activities.

The activities consist of promoting Greek culture and traditions, promoting cultural and racial harmony within the community and promoting good citizenship and social welfare for the common good and general welfare of the people of the community.

The Organization, in the performance of its charitable goals may, as occasions arise, contribute to the financial support of indigent or sick fellow men and women, or religious, educational, scientific and philanthropic institutions

Notwithstanding any other provisions of these articles, the organization is organized exclusively for one or more of the purposes as specified in the Internal Revenue Code, section 501(c) and shall not carry any activities not permitted to be carried on by an organization exempt from Federal Income Tax. 

No member, officer or director of the Organization shall receive any part of the net earnings of the organization or shall be entitled to share in the distribution of any of the organization's assets upon dissolution. No substantial part of its activities shall consist of participating in any political campaign attempting to influence legislation or carrying on of political propaganda.

In addition, it is the Organization’s responsibility to participate during members’ moments of happiness as well as moments of sorrow, appropriately.  Monetary gifts shall be given only to honor the memory of past and present members of the Board of Directors and shall not exceed $ 100.

Σκοπός του Συλλόγου 

Οι σκοποί του Συλλόγου αναγράφονται στον Ιδρυτικό Χάρτη. Περιληπτικά είναι η συλλογή χρημάτων για φιλανθρωπικούς και εκπαιδευτικούς σκοπούς καθώς και η ενστάλαξη στα μέλη του, των παραδόσεων, της ιστορίας και των εθίμων του τόπου της καταγωγής τους και την συνέχιση της παιδείας στην ιστορία των Καρδαμύλων.

Οι πόροι του Συλλόγου συνίστανται από τις ετήσιες συνδρομές των μελών, δωρεές, κέρδη από διάφορες εκδηλώσεις που οργανώνει το Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο  από καιρό σε καιρό και από εισοδήματα επενδύσεων. Καμία εκδήλωση  δεν επιτρέπεται εάν δεν είναι σύμφωνη με τους κανονισμούς οργανισμών που εξαιρούνται από την Ομοσπονδιακή Φορολογία.

Οι εκδηλώσεις του Συλλόγου συνίστανται στην προβολή του Ελληνικού πολιτισμού και των Ελληνικών παραδόσεων, στην προβολή πολιτιστικής και φυλετικής αρμονίας και στην καλυτέρευση της ζωής των μελών της παροικίας μας.

Ο Σύλλογος στην εκτέλεση των φιλανθρωπικών του σκοπών και ανάλογα με τις ανάγκες που θα παρουσιασθούν, μπορεί να προσφέρει οικονομική ενίσχυση απόρου η ασθενή συνάνθρωπου, καθώς και προς θρησκευτικά, εκπαιδευτικά, επιστημονικά και φιλανθρωπικά ιδρύματα.

Εξαιρούμενων άλλων άρθρων του καταστατικού, ο Σύλλογος οργανώνεται αποκλειστικά για ένα η περισσότερους από τους σκοπούς που περιγράφει ο νόμος του Internal Revenue, section 501(c) και δεν θα λαβαίνει μέρος σε έργα που δεν επιτρέπονται να γίνονται από οργανισμό που εξαιρείται από τον κρατικό φόρο.  

Κανένα μέλος,  αξιωματούχος,  η μέλος του Διοικητικού Συμβουλίου παίρνει μέρος από τις εισπράξεις του Συλλόγου η δικαιούται μέρος από τις παροχές.  Καμία ουσιώδης ενέργεια του Συλλόγου θα γίνεται για συμμετοχή σε πολιτικούς αγώνες, επιρροή στις νομοθεσίες η για άσκηση πολιτικής προπαγάνδας.  

Επί πλέον, είναι υποχρέωση του Συλλόγου να λαβαίνει μέρος με σωστό τρόπο στις χαρές και στις λύπες των μελών του. Χρηματικά δώρα δεν πρέπει να ξεπερνούν τα $100 και θα δίδονται μόνο στην μνήμη μελών που υπηρέτησαν η υπηρετούν στο Διοικητικό Συμβούλιο.
